PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

“For All Ages”
Serving St. Lucie County

Community Transit is the public transit provider for St. Lucie County. We provide transportation at a nominal cost to all locations for all reasons throughout St. Lucie County. Community Transit has two modes of transportation:

The Treasure Coast Connector

Treasure Coast Connector (Fixed Route)

A fixed route service generally provides service along specific routes with scheduled arrival times at predetermined bus stop areas. Reservations are not required, however, we request that you are at the bus stop five minutes in advance.
The Treasure Coast Connector

The Treasure Coast Connector (TCC) is a regional fixed route system servicing St. Lucie and Martin Counties. TCC has stops located off of US 1 for passenger safety. The route begins with the first stop at the 7th Street Juvenile Courthouse, along US 1 to Martin Memorial Medical Center. To Reserve a seat, please call at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance. We accept reservations up to two (2) weeks in advance.


Community Transit (Demand Response)
A curb to curb system where passenger trips are generated by calls from passengers or their agents at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance, to the Transit Reservationist, who then schedules a vehicle to pick up the passenger.

New riders need to register with Community Transit
Simply phone 464-RIDE (7433) in Ft. Pierce or 879-1BUS (1287) in Port St. Lucie and provide us with the following information:

  • Name, Address, and Telephone Number
  • Date of Birth and Social Security Number
  • Medicaid Number (Medicaid riders only)
  • Need for Special Assistance
  • Mobility Aides (Wheelchair, walker, etc.)
  • Emergency Contact Number

Scheduling Transportation

  • Call 464-RIDE (7433) if you reside in the city of Ft. Pierce
  • Call 879-1BUS (1287) if you reside in the city of Port St. Lucie
  • Give us the date, time, the address of your destination and a phone contact.
  • Inform us again of any special assistance you may require.

At least twenty-four (24) hours notice is requested for trip reservations, however, every effort is made to accommodate same day riders. We can take reservations up to two weeks in advance.

Medicaid Transportation Only
Transportation to a Medicaid provider in St. Lucie County requires 48-hours advance notice. Transportation to a Medicaid provider outside St. Lucie County requires 72-hours advance notice. You will need to supply the Transit Reservationist with the doctor's name, address and telephone number, as well as the name of the type of medicine the doctor practices. Those Medicaid Recipients requiring medically-necessary stretcher transport are requested to call at least five (5) days in advance. If the Medicaid appointment is of an urgent nature, please call our office. Special circumstances will get proper consideration.

PICK UP AND DROP OFF INFORMATION

  • Please be ready at least sixty (60) minutes before your scheduled appointment.
  • Watch for the bus. The driver will beep the horn for you to come out.
  • Have your Trip Fare ready.
  • When your appointment is concluded, it is your responsibility (or ask office staff) to phone 464-RIDE (7433) in Ft. Pierce or 879-1BUS (1287) in Port St. Lucie and let us know you are ready. A bus will be dispatched to you as soon as possible.
CANCELLATION/NO SHOWS
If you need to cancel your reservation, whatever the reason, please make sure that you call the office and notify us at least two (2) hours in advance of the bus arriving at your home. Failure to do so results in a No-Show.

Community Transit tracks the number of No-Shows that occur each month. If a passenger incurs two (2) No-Shows within a thirty (30) day period, the passenger's services with Community Transit will be suspended for 30 days. Please be sure to cancel your reservations to avoid disruption in your services.

Single ride: $1.00
Elderly, disabled, children 5-11: $ .50
Children under 5 (with an adult): Free
Medicaid Recipients: $1.00 co-pay
